MMS — Multimedia Messaging Service

Make an impact with every message

Some things a text can't say. Send photos, videos, GIFs, and audio straight to the message thread your customers check first — via a simple HTTP API or MM4. Rich content, real engagement, one carrier-grade network.

Speak louder than with just words

Show, don't tell

A product photo, a boarding pass, a how-to clip, a coupon that looks like a coupon — visual messages get noticed, remembered, and acted on. MMS turns your highest-intent channel into a canvas for your brand.

Room to say it properly

SMS delivers text in 160-character segments. MMS carries rich media plus long-form copy in a single message — no awkward split texts, no clipped offers, just one clean message that lands the way you wrote it.

The engine behind group messaging

MMS is what makes true group threads possible. Bring teams, crews, and customers into one fluid conversation with group messaging on Tychron's MMS API.

Integrate your way: HTTP or MM4

Modern platforms use our HTTP API; carrier-side systems connect over MM4. Either way you're sending and receiving through Tychron's carrier platform — with the same delivery insight and support behind every message.

MMS questions, answered

What media can I send with MMS?

Images (JPEG, PNG, GIF — including animated GIFs), video and audio clips, and contact cards. MMS also carries far more text than a single SMS, so captions and offers don't get chopped into segments.

How is MMS different from SMS?

SMS is text only, delivered in 160-character segments. MMS carries rich media plus long-form text in one message, and it's what powers group messaging. Both ride the same 10DLC, toll-free, or short-code number — and both need the same registration and consent as any business messaging.

How do I send MMS through Tychron?

Two integration paths: a straightforward HTTP API, or MM4 (the carrier-side protocol) for platforms that already speak it. Most customers are sending their first test message the same day they get credentials.

Do MMS messages need 10DLC registration?

Yes — application-to-person MMS on local numbers runs on registered 10DLC campaigns, the same as SMS. Registered traffic also gets MMS-specific carrier pass-through rates, which Tychron passes through at cost.
